"Beauty and the Beast" is a timeless fairy tale that originated from French folklore, with the most famous version written by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve in the 18th century and later abridged and rewritten by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont. The story centers around Belle, a bright and independent young woman who feels out of place in her provincial village. When her father, Maurice, is captured by a Beast while wandering in the woods, Belle bravely offers to take his place as the Beast's prisoner. The Beast, once a handsome prince, was cursed by an enchantress for his selfishness and must learn to love and earn love in return to break the spell. As Belle and the Beast spend time together, they begin to form an unlikely bond. With the help of the enchanted household objects in the castle, such as Lumière, Cogsworth, and Mrs. Potts, Belle discovers the Beast's kind heart beneath his gruff exterior. The story explores themes of inner beauty, redemption, and the transformative power of love. Ultimately, Belle's love helps the Beast break the curse, restoring him to his true form and allowing them to live happily ever after. The most notable adaptations include Disney's animated film released in 1991, which received critical acclaim and became a cultural phenomenon, and the live-action adaptation released in 2017, starring Emma Watson as
