In this third (and final) installment of the Problem Child series, Junior Healy (now played by Justin Chapman) is older but no less troublesome. After moving to a new town with his adoptive father, Ben (William Katt, replacing John Ritter), Junior develops a crush on a girl named Eve. However, his usual pranks and bad behavior get in the way of winning her over. The film takes a softer approach than its predecessors, focusing on Junior’s attempts to reform (sort of) while still causing chaos at school and home. The humor is less dark and more in line with a typical '90s family TV movie, with slapstick gags and a moral about growing up. Originally airing on USA Network, Problem Child 3 lacks the edgy tone of the first two films and received mixed reactions from fans. However, it remains a nostalgic curiosity for those who grew up with the series.
